Port Maitland Wesleyan Church is a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and one another. The Bible speaks about iron sharpening iron. We believe that together we grow stronger. We are a community of believers.
Port Maitland Wesleyan Church strives to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Port Maitland Wesleyan Church makes an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our community changed.
Port Maitland Wesleyan Church highly values our relationships with one another. We look to grow through fellowship, and ultimately growing closer to God. We value the word of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.
We Believe
Port Maitland Wesleyan is part of the Wesleyan Church, an evangelical, Protestant denomination, and our beliefs are consistent with historic Christianity. The following are some doctrinal statements that directly influence the way we live our lives and the way we operate our ministries at Port Maitland Wesleyan. We believe these to be the basic truths about God and our relationship with Him. We’re open to change and compromise on a variety of issues… these aren’t them.
we Beleive
. . . in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit (The Trinity), and the Saviour of all people who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life.
We Beleive
. . .that those who receive new life in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit.
We Believe
. . . that the Bible is the inspired and infallible written Word of God, completely without error in its original manuscripts and transmitted to the present without the corruption of any essential doctrine.
We Believe
. . . in the Bible and seek to establish our faith and actions on its teachings.
We Believe
. . . God wills for people everywhere to know Him personally.
We Believe
. . . the purpose of the Church is to tell the world about Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.
We Believe
. . . in the imminent and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ who will take His Church worldwide to its final home in Heaven.
